Riley Shayne!

Born: August 19, 2008
Time: 4:10pm
Weight: 8 pounds 5 ounces
Length: 20.75 inches

We have a ton of photos to post; don't worry - not as many as Disney World! My mom took them with my brother's camera, so we are waiting to have them downloaded and burned to a CD.

Highlights of the day!

We got to the hospital at 7:00am, after no sleep! I had contractions for over 3 hours the night before and then a storm knocked out the power for the next 3 hours. Finally around 4:00am it came back on and we got about two hours total of sleep... someone must have been trying to prepare us for what was about to come.

7:00am - Arrived at hospital
7:55am - Dr.Christensen broke my water! Fun time...
10:40am - nothing was happening, so guess what they started... "patocin"
12:12pm - I received an epidural; 4cm dilated
12:24pm - feeling much better!
1:35pm - Seriously, what happened to the epidural! Something was wrong with the epidural and things multiplied at this point! I received a boost from the doctor.
1:45pm - feeling much better!
2:00pm - Really serious NOW! Where is the real epidural? They called the doctor back in and I got a 2nd epidural - correct, had to start over from the beginning!
2:20pm - Round 2 epidural! Not as bad as the first one, I am so thankful for the nurse and doctor taking the time to help me out.
2:30pm - HEAVEN!
3:15pm - 7cm
3:35pm - READY to push, 10cm and 100%... Riley was crowning!
3:45pm - nurse holding my legs together while the doctor was on his way... this was an interesting moment!
3:55pm - Dr. Christensen walked in the room, started pushing...
4:10pm - WELCOME RILEY SHAYNE TOLMAN!

Tears, Tears, Photo Ops, Tears, Photo Ops... I keep playing it in my head over and over! It still doesn't seem real. We are so blessed to have Riley (& Carrington).

More post to come about the hospital stay and welcoming Riley home.

Stay tuned.
