Why RED, why RED, WHY RED!

I'm home alone today! Shane is working in Burley and Carrington is at school - until 3:00pm that is... SO, I get this CRAZY idea while I'm working out this morning that I should paint the family room. Shane is always saying how he wishes we would decorate more and make our house feel more like a "home". In that thought... "how much fun would it be to paint the family room and surprise him..." What was I THINKING? I love to paint, don't get me wrong... but Shane normally does the taping, takes off the electrical plates with a screw driver, etc, etc. I on the other hand, start painting, use a butter knife to take things down, don't worry about covering anything up, etc, etc. I'm sure you all have pictured our differences by now.

A while back we decided that the family room would be the TV/"dead" animal room. Shane had an antelope and bear mounted over the last couple of years and really wanted to hang them in the house. I voted for the garage, but then decided we might as well hang these expensive animals in our home. So, the family room was their destination! I wanted to try something a little different, so I went out on a limb and purchased RED paint; Posh Red paint to be exact. First coat, 30 minutes - no problems. It dried in no time and the second coat was on - beautiful!!!!!! Now it was time to start the edges (some do edges first, I like to save them for the end)... one word - FRUSTRATING! Now a days when builders texture walls, it's not the average "orange peel", it's like flat land and mountain peaks. It's impossible to edge the walls... again, IMPOSSIBLE! I was so worried about what to do, so I called my friend Tish. I came up with a million dumbs ideas to try and cover the edges. I'm sure she got a good laugh out of me. After trying for over an hour to edge, I decided I am going to have to purchase some type of molding. Man, a $30 project is going to turn into a $60 or $75 project. The wall is beautiful, but the edges aren't so beautiful!

In the end, I hope Shane likes the wall and will like helping me hang molding. He is always saying he would love to do some projects around the house... :)

Here is the RED WALL, with no painted edges...
